Dear Rin,
I always open your ‘Please Do Not Bend “packages with anticipation, always to meet
the beautiful and unexpected. My first impulse is to write in response. I write and write
and write, for hours, sometimes, for days, I feel I want to tell you everything. I wake in
the night and write. Then I set it aside like a jar of liquid substance. Like the jar of
water where I dip my brush and, after days, that precious sediment at the bottom, the
unique, one time only, color, is resolved.
“Two things” is like an arcane of the Tarot. There is no one interpretation but depends
on the reader. What does it say to me? The first flash of response is ‘between’.
My response: ‘Life is in the inbetween’,1and2.
Style;
Style maybe thought of as nothing more or less than the evolution of the artist- the
way of the artist. This style is the style of Rin, evolved out of all the influences,
observations, thoughts, feelings, intuitions, will, craft and experience in the life of one
uniquely talented person, Rin.
This interpretation of style bears in mind the prerequisite, as in your case it does, that
the label in the sweater read 100% wool.
