August 29,2006 Dear George, Thank you for “a tear is a small ocean but has no shore”. I felt a breeze, a breeze washing away tears over and over again. I heard the sounds, the sounds of life. This ocean has no shore, no destination, no boundary …a harmony of sky, ocean, breeze. The life exists here. We might be just like a tiny drop of water in the ocean but it exists. It was over ten years ago, I met my friend Sue who was painting a back of a woman who is sitting alone with no dress in the darkness. Sue told me that the woman in her painting is not lonely, but alone. The painting has never been completed. “not lonely but alone” This concept stayed in me for a long time. It became one of my continuous inspirations. I admired its strength, the courage in the darkness. I used to be a child who does not cry. I refused to cry. I thought it is wrong to cry. Shedding tears was not a cool thing. I did not want to lose my coolness. I was my hero. Now, I have become a grown up who cries. I cry too easily. I have become my child. All we are walking on this winding road. There is no hand to lead you or me. How can I explain those lonely hearts? “not lonely but alone” has gone to somewhere. One truth is that we are “not alone but deeply lonely”. I am sending you two images this time. One is “present”. Other one is “ woe is me”. Love&Peace Rin
August 17,2006 Dear Rin, Your "patching skies" is so beautiful and so true. I am always patching life together. The things you say are wise and stay with me a long time. Rain can even fall from the smallest cloud in a blue sky, a little drop of rain, so like a tear. Do you remember what you said?, "a tear is the smallest ocean we can make" Here is my response; "a tear is a small ocean but no shore" many blessings, George
August 15, 2006 Dear George, I am sending you "patching skies". Is the sky you see the same one as I see? We think that the sky is which above us. But is it really so? In Japanese, "Patching" is "Matsuri". "Matsuri" has also another meaning which is "celebration". I believe every celebration is a prayer. Love&Peace, Rin
